As we are currently working towards our 3rd Green Flag (Water) we organised a ‘Walk for Water’ on World Water Day (22nd March 2017) to help raise awareness and highlight the huge number of people in the world who still don’t have access to clean water in 2017. Today, there are over 663 million people living without a safe water supply close to home. A part of Green-Schools work on the theme of Water is helping to spread awareness of the Global Goals and of water issues locally and across the world. The aim of a ‘Walk for Water’ initiative is to highlight the average distance(6km) walked in countries with issues of water scarcity by women and children to access clean water. Collectively the children carried over 200L of water!
