Our Chess Club Final took place earlier this week with two finalists from 5th class – Shane and Jake. It was an exhilerating final that went right to the wire with Shane pipping Jake for Checkmate in the end!!
Both Shane and Jake visited the classes after the final to show off their trophies and talk about the wonderful work Ms Hughes does in preparing the boys for Ficheall tournaments, running the chess club and interclass competition. The boys spoke about how they only joined for a bit of fun and have really enjoyed it. They practice plenty at home and find it to be a good game for the mind.
This brings an end to our Chess club for 2025, we would like to thank all our chess club members and a special word to Ms Hughes for all her fantastic work.
