On arrival the boys got to meet Dessie, one of the station’s inspectors. Train driver, Andy, brought them on to the train to see the inside of his cab- some even got to pull the horn. Stationmaster Anthony gave the boys a guided tour of the station’s museum. A few boys got to try on his hat as well. Afterwards, Anthony brought the boys down to the old signal box which is one of only 4 train stations to feature on an Irish stamp! It was a lovely end of year treat for the boys and huge thanks to the Irish Rail staff in Clarke Station for a thoroughly enjoyable morning.
