Welcome back to the Friary for another school year.
The long summer holidays are over and another year is beginning. A very special welcome the St. Malachy’s BNS to all our new pupils in 2nd class and those who have joined us from other schools. We welcome Mr. Shane O’Connell who has joined our teaching staff and will be teaching

The boys of 6th class have finished their education in St. Malacahy’s BNS this week and were presented with certificates in a final school assembley. They were interviewed by Mr. Stanley about their memories of their time in the Friary. Memories were varied and plentiful.

The annual Sponsored Dundalk Walk and the Mountain Walk for the school will take place on Tuesday, June 27th. Sponsorship cards have been distributed and all monies raised will be used to enhance the education of our pupils. On a beautiful, sunny Wednesday afternoon, May 9th, the school litter wardens assisted by many of their classmates set out to clean the school grounds and the school locality as our contribution to the An Taisce National Spring Clean 2017. All the school, staff and pupils gathered in the Friary Hall to take part in RTE’s Operation Transformation 10 at 10 activity on Friday, February 10th. Check out the pictures below. Everyone worked hard for 10 minutes and really enjoyed the exercises to music. Keep up your exercise plan.

Archbishop Eamon Martin celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation with the boys and girls of the Friary Boys and Girls School on Saturday, March 5th in St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Over 60 children were confirmed. The Archbishop praised the sining of the children.
